You know that feeling when your suitcase doesn't show up on the carousel?

Or when you can't quite figure out where you placed your purse?

Yeahhhh. As a solo female traveler, especially, those moments make my heart and stomach sink.

I can still recall the panic I felt when I couldn't find my bag while I was switching buses in Belize City, and the driver kept telling me he had already moved it for me.

I didn't see it on the new bus, and it had my laptop from AAA. I needed it for work, and I sure as hell didn't want to tell my boss the laptop they'd given me had magically disappeared!

It's moments like these that make me THRILLED that a few years back, a co-worker gave me a set of AirTags as a gift, and I've been tracking my belongings ever since.

If you're not familiar, an AirTag connects to your Apple device and works much like Find My iPhone, except it's tracking a physical item instead of your phone.

I've got one in my purse, one in my backpack, and one tucked in my suitcase. That way, if anything wanders off without me, I can actually find it instead of just hoping for the best.

Get yourself one (or three): AirTags or a similar tracker for your purse, suitcase, or laptop bag. It's a small thing that saves a lot of stress. They're also 19% off right now!

One heads-up: the batteries that come with them tend to last longer than the replacements I've bought since. So it's worth grabbing some backup batteries before you actually need them.

Bonus tip: share your location with someone you trust too. I use Find My since I'm an iPhone user, but if you're on Android, Life360 does the same job. I legit just watched a 48 Hours episode that used it to track down this woman's killer (sad I know, but at least she got justice).
