First solo trip → Queen.

A woman from Delhi whose wedding falls apart goes on the honeymoon alone anyway. It's the single best depiction of a first solo trip I've seen, and almost nobody I mention it to has heard of it.

Worried solo travel will be lonely → The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

Shot in Iceland, and Ben Stiller plays it completely sincere.

Road trip → Chasing Liberty.

Prague, Venice, Berlin, London. I've been to every city in it and they're captured beautifully, which is not something I say often.

Treasure hunt → Indiana Jones, obviously.

Venice, Petra, Yosemite, Granada.

Moving abroad → Under the Tuscan Sun.

Long-haul and culture shock → A Tourist's Guide to Love.

My favorite travel film on Netflix, and I see a lot of myself in the lead, who works in travel for a living.
